The Background

India is already a preferred destination for outsourcing IT work. We Indians somehow seem to have a knack for mathematics and logic – both of which are very essential for programming.

The number of people trying to get into the IT industry is so high that quality often takes a backseat. There is a huge demand for talented, skilled workforce in the industry, but the vast majority of the unemployed workforce are unskilled and looking for a breakthrough.

Students (freshers) realize that they don't have all the necessary skills, but don't have a reliable and sincere mentor to depend upon. There are many unscrupulous elements in our country who run training institutes or employment agencies, promise jobs to these students and cheat them in various ways. Students therefore do not know where to go and are wary of being cheated.

We decided to put an end to this by allowing students to join our classes, complete the training, get placed by their own merit – all without having to pay anything to us or anybody else! That way, they have no fear of getting cheated, and can judge the effectiveness of the training in their lives on their own.

After they get placed, if they feel that the training was really worth the price (but they did not pay nevertheless), they undertake to sponsor the education of at least 2 others within 1 year of joining their company, using a small percentage of the salary that they are drawing. The chain starts there! If they are not convinced with the role of the training in their lives, they are under no obligation to continue the chain and need not pay anthing to anyone. The chain ends there!

We are confident of the impact we can make in the lives of these people. We will keep the system open and transparent for the whole world to see who has sponsored whom, and who hasn't sponsored anyone despite their course being sponsored, and why!

About the Program

To start with, the training program will span approximately 2 months and will cover C (6 days), C++ (6 days) and Java (6 days). These languages are the base that all students should know to participate in interviews and tests for employment. The course will be continuously improvised. More technical sessions will be added, and there will be emphasis on non-technical skills as well. Volunteers from the industry are invited to spare some time (maybe half a day per volunteer) to share their experiences and expertise with the students.
